1. How can FSC Members register in the FSC General Assembly?

FSC Members may register for the FSC General Assembly 2011 online at: http://www.ga.fsc.org/registration.html.GA Participants can transfer the fee or pay online with credit card. http://www.ga.fsc.org/payment.html

 

2. Can stakeholders register in the FSC General Assembly 2011?

Different stakeholders can register as Observers in the FSC General Assembly 2011. This means they can attend to the GA open sessions and activities. As non-members, Stakeholders do not have the right to vote in the General Assembly. FSC is a membership association. The membership is the highest authority of FSC and the ultimate decision-taker. 

3. What are the registration costs and deadlines for the FSC General Assembly?

•    Early Registration: receipt of payment before 15 March 2011, EUR 800.00
•    Regular registration period: Receipt of payment from 16 March to 15 May 2011, EUR 1,000.00
•    Late registration: After 15 May 2011 EUR 1,200.00

 

4. Is there a visa required to enter Malaysia?

Depending on your country of citizenship, you may be required to obtain a visa to enter Malaysia. Visa requirements vary and are subject to change, so please refer to the High Commission/Embassy/Consulate of the country concerned. More information 

 

5. Where should I make my hotel reservations?

FSC has arranged special rates for the participants of the FSC General Assembly 2011 at the Pacific & Magellan Sutera (Sutera Harbour Resort). 6. How can I find out more about tourism and guided tours?

Within the FSC General Assembly, Borneo Tall Ship has arranged a wide range of guided tours for GA participants. If you are interested in these activities, Borneo Tall Ships is a specialist travel agency dealing with travel within Malaysian Borneo. More information  

 

7. What should I know about the FSC GA Venue?

The FSC General Assembly 2011 will be held at the Pacific Sutera (Sutera Harbour Resort). Situated at the heart of Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, the location is ideal for business, congresses and meetings. The hotel’s location is just ten minutes away from the international airport and is within convenient distance to tourist areas and commercial centres. 8. Does FSC offer Field Trips to the GA Participants?

Within the program of the FSC General Assembly 2011, FSC is organizing field trips. There is a field trip to Deramakot Forest Reserve in Sabah - the sole forest reserve area that has been certified under both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Malaysian Criteria and Indicators Standards (MC&I). This excursion will give participants the opportunity to explore one of the world’s pioneer FSC certified tropical rainforests. More information

11. Does FSC offer subsidies for FSC Members?

FSC has set aside a small fund to help with subsidies to as many members as FSC can afford. Taking into account that the cost to attend the FSC General Assembly 2011 is prohibitive for some members, and FSC is committed to support as many members as possible to attend this important event. The deadline for requesting subsidies is 15 March 2011. More information.
