The FSC General Assembly brings together stakeholders and experts from around the world. A program of Side Meetings provides participants the opportunity to delve deeper into the issues addressed in formal sessions and highlight their diverse activities in promoting responsible stewardship of the world forests.

Side Meetings take place outside of the formal sessions, and are organized for the purpose of sharing experiences and increasing opportunities for dialogue among the FSC General Assembly delegates. At the FSC General Assembly 2008, close to 20 diverse Side Meetings were held, in which participants were actively engaged in addressing the crucial links between the welfare of people and forests.
